Other than that, medical image retrieval system is to provide a tool for radiologists to retrieve the images similar to query image in content. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is an imaging technique that has played an important role in neuroscience research for studying brain images. Classification is an important part in retrieval system in order to distinguish between normal patients and those who have the possibility of having abnormalities or tumor. In this paper, we have obtained the feature related to MRI images using discrete wavelet transformation.     Dewasa ini dunia telah dilakari oleh pelbagai trend dan paradigma kehidupan bentuk baru. Pascamodenisme yang ditandai arus gelombang peringkat ketiga telah memberi impak yang bukan sedikit dalam kehidupan moral masyarakat khususnya masyarakat Melayu. Nilai-nilai yang dibawah oleh ideologi pascamodenisme menerusi pelbagai medium telah memberi dampak moral-sosial yang amat menakutkan. Hal ini tidak terkecuali meresapi ke dalam jiwa dan jatidiri masyarakat Melayu samada di Bandar mahu pun di luar Bandar. Statistik kebejatan social membuktikan hal ini. Sebut apa jua bentuk perlakuan tidak bermoral – pembunuhan, sumbang muhrim, pelacuran, gangsterisme, alkoholisme, perjudian, vandalisme dan sebagainya – setiap satu daripada amat ramai melibatkan masyarakat Melayu. Justeru itu, generalisasi dapat dibuat bahawa wajah moral masyarakat Melayu berada pada tahap yang amat kronik dan kritikal. Justeru itu, kertas kerja konseptual ini akan dibahagikan kepada tiga bahagian. Pada bahagian pertama kami akan menghuraikan secara konsep-konsep asas kertas kerja ini selain memaparkan hujah ‘rupa bentuk wajah’ moral masyarakat Melayu dulu dan kini. Kami juga akan memberikan justifikasi sebab-sebab munculnya wajah moral masyarakat Melayu masa kini pada bahagian kedua kertas kerja ini, kami akan mengagaskan usaha-usaha yang telah dan sedang dibuat bagi ‘mencantikkan’ wajah moral masyarakat Melayu. Dalam hal ini, kami turut melontarkan idea dan kritikan pendekatan-pendekatan yang dibuat selain mengagaskan suatu pendekatan yang lebih bersepadu. Pada bahagian akhir kertas kerja ini, kami menampilkan suatu pendekatan pendidikan moral tinggi yang mampu mengembalikan semula wajah moral yang indah dan bersih itu

    A Wised Routing Protocols for Leo Satellite Networks

    This Study proposes a routing strategy of combining a packet scheduling with congestion control policy that applied for LEO satellite network with high speed and multiple traffic. It not only ensures the QoS of different traffic, but also can avoid low priority traffic to be "starve" due to their weak resource competitiveness, thus it guarantees the throughput and performance of the network.     Deep learning stereo matching algorithm using Siamese network

    Autonomous vehicle has become a very hot topic for researchers in recent years. One of the important sensors used in these vehicles is Stereo Cameras/Vision. Stereo vision systems are used to estimate the depth from the two cameras installed on robots or vehicles. This method can deliver the 3D position of all objects captured in the scene at a lower cost and higher density compared to LIDAR. Recently, neural net-works are vastly investigated and used in image processing problems and deep learning networks which has surpassed traditional computer vision methods specially in object recognition. In this paper, we propose to use a GPU with a new Siamese deep learning method to speed up the stereo matching algorithm. In this work, we use a high end Nvidia DGX workstation to train and test our algorithm and compare the results with normal GPUs and CPUs. Based on numerical evaluation, the Nvidia DGX can train a neural network with higher input image resolution approximately 8 times faster than a normal GPU and 40 times faster than a Core i7 8 Cores CPU. Since it has the ability to train on a higher resolution the network can be trained in more iteration and results in higher accuracy

    Systematic qualitative data management (SQDM) during an interpretive action research

    This paper presents the systematic way of data management in an action research to explore the interplay of mathematical thinking processes and mathematical sense making experiences of first year engineering students. The transitional impact of future engineers from school mathematics to engineering mathematics is explored by collecting data through multiple techniques and methods. The interpretivist epistemology and constructivist theoretical perspective during this action research demanded a rigorous qualitative research process and extensive data collection using emergent methods and techniques. This paper would address the queries like what data to collect and manage and how to manage it during this research process. Data management became vital for securing and utilizing the data in a proper way throughout our research. Managing the data effectively also enabled us to risk free data, accuracy, verifiability, and improved productivity of the research. Properly managed data would easily be preserved and reanalyzed in future with new analysis techniques. During this research, the digital and nondigital data, documentation and meta-data were also collected. We used multiple softwares e.g. Microsoft Excel, Word and NVivo10 to manage the data. Documentation helped us to be precise and holistic to further utilize the data for interpretive analysis

    Fast and robust stereo matching algorithm for obstacle detection in robotic vision systems

    In this paper, we propose a new area-based stereo matching method by improving the classical Census transform. It is a difficult task to match the corresponding points in two images taken by stereo cameras, mostly under variant illumination and non-ideal conditions. The classic Census nonparametric transform offers some improvements in the accuracy of disparity map in these conditions but it also has some disadvantages. Because of the complexity of the algorithm, the performance is not suitable for real-time robotic systems. In order to solve this problem, this paper presents the differential transform using Maximum intensity differences of the pixel placed in the center of a defined window and the pixel in the neighborhood to reduce complexity and obtain better performance compared to the Census transform. Experimental results show that the proposed method, achieves better efficiency in terms of speed and memory consumption. Moreover, we have added a new feature to widen the depth detection range. With the help of the proposed method, robots can detect obstacles between 25cm to 400cm from robot cameras. The result shows that the method has the ability to work in a wide variety of lighting conditions, while the stereo matching performs the depth detection computation with speed of 30FPS

    AbstractThis paper present a conceptual framework that will be used for analyzing divergence in mathematical thinking, skills, abilities, processes and achievements in mathematics through the lens of cultural neuroscience. The bidirectional interface between mathematical thinking and cultural neuroscience is used to explore different learning styles, cognition patterns and neural activities in response of mathematical thinking influenced by culture. Research questions are emerged as how do innate mathematical abilities, plasticity of the young brains and the mathematical cultural environment contribute to mathematical thinking? Why do a group of students from one ethnicity tend to achieve higher scores in mathematics than a group of students from another ethnicity? How does cultural neuroscience report the differences in mathematical thinking and learning trajectories? How does culture accelerate the mathematical thinking?
